Peter Cook und Dudley Moore waren 2 erfolgreiche britische Komiker, die auch ein paar Platten aufgenommen haben. Dudley Moore begann seine künstlerische Laufbahn aber als Jazzpianist, war also auch ein durchaus erfahrener Musiker. Seine Zusammenarbeit mit Peter Cook begann 1964 mit dem Bühnenprogramm "Beyond The Fringe", bei dem auch noch Jonathan Miller und Alan Bennett mitwirkten. Richtig großen Erfolg hatten Peter Cook und Dudley Moore dann mit der Fernsehsendung "Not Only... But Also", für die sie Sketche und Musik schrieben und verschiedene Charaktere kreierten. Die Serie lief von 1965 bis 1970. Aber auch die Fernsehreihe "Goodbye Again!" 1968, die die beiden mit unter anderem John Cleese von Monty Python gestalteten, war in Great Britain sehr beliebt. Im Jahr 1965 veröffentlichten Cook & Moore bei Decca Records die Single "Goodbye-ee / Not Only But Also", die es in die britischen Charts schaffte. Für die Musik sorgte das Dudley Moore Trio, das aus Dudley Moore (Piano), Pete McGurk (Bass) und Chris Karan (Drums) bestand. Cook & Moore waren aber auch in Spielfilmen wie "The Wrong Box" 1966, "Bedazzled" 1967, "Monte Carlo Or Bust" 1968 oder "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" 1978 zu bewundern. Im letztgenannten spielte Peter Cook Sherlock Holmes und Dudley Moore Doc Watson, yeah. Musikalisch konnten sie noch mit Songs wie "Isn’t She A Sweetie" 1966, "Bedazzled" und eben "The L.S. Peter Cook arbeitete weiterhin erfolgreich als Komiker für britische Bühnen- und Fernsehproduktionen und Dudley Moore feierte als Schauspieler in Hollywood weitere Erfolge. Im Jahr 1982 wurde er für seine Rolle in "Arthur - Kein Kind von Traurigkeit" mit dem Golden Globe Arward als Bester Hauptdarsteller in einer Komödie ausgezeichnet, yeah, diese Auszeichnung bekam er 1985 nochmals, diesmal für seine Rolle in "Micky + Maude". Der Song "The L.S. Bumble Bee" ist auf dem Album "Beatlesongs!" zu finden, das 1982 bei Rhino Records erschien.
