Sie hat 1971 beim Label Tal Star Records ihre einzige Single "Daddy Was A Preacher But Mama Was A Go-Go Girl / Journey Into Yesterday" veröffentlicht, produziert wurde sie von einem Herrn namens Junior Keith, der 1963 für die Band The Elements den Song "The Young Years" geschrieben hat. Hmm, vielleicht war er auch Mitglied der Band The Elements, wäre durchaus möglich. The Elements haben jedenfalls 1963 bei Limelight Records die Single "The Young Years / Promises" veröffentlicht. Bei beiden Songs ihrer Single wird Betty Jo Bangs auch als Songwriterin gelistet. Im gleichen Jahr erschien aber auch von Jo Anna Neel die Single "Daddy Was A Preacher But Mama Was A Go-Go Girl / A Perfect Stranger" bei Decca Records, auf der Jo Anna Neel und ihr Ehemann Bob Neel als Autoren des Songs angeführt werden. Komisch, komisch. Die Band Southern Culture On The Skids coverte den Song 1992 auf ihrem beim Label Safe House erschienenen Album "For Lovers Only", da sind Jo Anna und Bob Neel als Writer angegeben. Jo Anna Neel hat jedenfalls Anfang der 70er Jahre für Decca Records noch die Singles "Still I Wanna See You / Lies (Are Breaking My Heart)" und "The Sparrow And Me / One More Time" sowie für MCA Records die Single "Sweet Song Singin’ You / Ding-Bat" aufgenommen. Ihr Mann Bob Neel war Drummer und spielte unter anderem in der Band von Chet Baker. Das Label Tal Star wurde anscheinend von Junior Keith betrieben und war in Amarillo, Texas zuhause. Außer der Single von Betty Jo Bangs erschien bei Tal Star Records 1968 noch die Single "Fire Is Gonna Fly / I Can't Forget The Past" von Little Miss Sabra, keine Ahnung wer das ist, anscheinend hat sie auch nur diese eine Single veröffentlicht. Es gibt ein Promotionfoto von Betty Jo Bangs, auf dem man sie im weißen Kleid am Klavier sitzen sieht, yeah.
