Die Familie James übersiedelte dann nach Lanner, Großbritannien, wo Richard D. James aufwuchs und die Redruth School besuchte. Richard D. James 1991 bei Rephlex Records auch die EP "Bradley's Beat" veröffentlicht, unter diesem Pseudonym veröffentlichte er 1993 noch die EP "Bradley's Robot". Andere Pseudonyme unter denen Richard D. James bisher Musik veröffentlichte, waren Power-Pill, Polygon Window, Caustic Window, GAK, The Tuss, Phonic Boy On Dope, user48736353001 und user18081971. Der 18.08.1971 ist das Geburtsdatum von Richard D. James. Der Song "Alberto Balsalm" stammt vom Album "...I Care Because You Do", das 1995 bei Warp Records erschien. Den bisher größten kommerziellen Erfolg hatte Aphex Twin mit den Songs "Come To Daddy" 1997 und "Windowlicker" 1999. Richard D. James: "Come To Daddy" came about while I was just hanging around my house, getting pissed and doing this crappy death metal jingle. Then it got marketed and a video was made, and this little idea that I had, which was a joke, turned into something huge. It wasn't right at all. Das bisher letztes Album von Richard D.
