Der Song "Deep In The Woods" stammt von der 1983 bei 4AD Records erschienenen EP "The Bad Seed" und wurde in der Besetzung Nick Cave (Vocals), Rowland S. Howard (Guitar), Tracy Pew (Bass) und Mick Harvey (Drums, Guitar) aufgenommen. Die Lyrics sind von Nick Cave und die Musik von The Birthday Party. Das Ende von The Birthday Party war nah, 1984 erschien bei Mute Records bereits das Debütalbum "From Her To Eternity" von Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, die anfangs aus Nick Cave (Vocals, Keyboards), Blixa Bargeld (Guitar), Hugo Race (Guitar), Barry Adamson (Bass) und Mick Harvey (Drums, Keyboards) bestanden. Rowland S. Howard machte mit These Immortal Souls weiter, deren Debütalbum "Get Lost (Don’t Lie)" 1987 bei Mute Records erschien. These Immortal Souls waren Rowland S. Howard (Vocals, Guitar), Genevieve McGuckin (Piano, Organ), Harry Howard (Bass) und Epic Soundtracks alias Kevin Paul Godfrey (Drums, Bells). Tracy Pew starb 1986 im Alter von 29 Jahren bei einem epileptischen Anfall. Shit. Der Song "Deep In The Woods" ist ebenfalls auf der 1992 bei 4AD Records erschienenen Compilation "The Birthday Party: Hits" zu finden, diese Compilation wurde von 4AD Records 2007 neu aufgelegt. Im Jahr 1982 erschien bei Au Go Go Records die Single "After The Fireworks / After, After The Fireworks" einer Band namens Tuff Monks, das waren Nick Cave (Vocals), Mick Harvey (Piano) und Rowland S. Howard (Guitar) von The Birthday Party sowie Grant McLennan (Guitar), Robert Forster (Guitar) und Lindy Morrison (Drums) von The Go-Betweens. Yeah! Ganze drei Mal schafften es The Birthday Party in die UK-Indie-Charts, und zwar mit den Songs "The Friend Catcher", "Mr. Clarinet" und "Release The Bats". The Birthday Party waren Punk, jedoch mehr in Richtung noisiger Rock’n’Roll. Habe gerade das Buch "Gespräche mit Genialen Dilletanten" von Jacek Slaski gelesen, es ist 2018 beim Martin Schmitz Verlag erschienen. Interviews mit Genialen Dilletanten wie Wolfgang Müller, Blixa Bargeld, Gudrun Gut, Frieder Butzmann etcetera etcetera. Gudrun Gut: Der Zustand in der Musikbranche ist weiterhin hart, da gibt es höchstens zehn Prozent Frauen. In den letzten fünf Jahren ist eine Bewegung wieder erstarkt, etwa über das Netzwerk Female Pressure, und viele Musikerinnen engagieren sich und sagen, jetzt reichts. Aber Macht wird nicht so leicht abgegeben. Das ist vermutlich das Problem, und den wunderbaren Freiraum Musik haben sich die Männer unter den Nagel gerissen. Das sehe ich aber nicht ein, den Raum will ich auch!
