Der Song "Along Comes Mary" wurde von Tandyn Almer geschrieben und war 1966 ein Hit für die Band The Association. Weitere Hitsongs von The Association waren "Cherish" 1966, "Windy" 1967 und "Everything That Touches You" 1968. Die Version von der Bloodhound Gang befindet sich auf dem Album "Hooray For Boobies", das 1999 bei Geffen Records erschien. Die Bloodhound Gang bestand 1999 aus Jimmy Pop alias James Franks (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Sampling), DJ Q-Ball alias Harry Dean Jr. (Vocals, Turntables, Keyboards, Programming), Lüpüs Thünder alias Matthew Stigliano (Guitar, Programming), Evil Jared Hasselhoff alias Jared Hennegan (Bass) und Spanky G alias Michael Guthier (Drums). Gegründet wurde die Band 1988 von Jimmy Pop und Daddy Long Legs alias Michael Bowe (Bass, Vocals) in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Anfangs nannten sie sich Bang Chamber 8 und 1990 wurden sie zur Bloodhound Gang. Im Jahr 1992 kamen dann Bubba K. Love alias Kyle Seifert (Turntables, Vocals), Foof alias Jack Vandergriff (Drums, Vocals) und Lüpüs Thünder dazu. Beim Label Cheese Factory Records erschien 1994 die EP "Dingleberry Haze" und 1995 bei Columbia Records das Debütalbum "Use Your Fingers" in der Besetzung Jimmy Pop, Daddy Long Legs, Lüpüs Thünder, Skip O'Pot2Mus alias Scott Richard (Drums) und M.S.G. alias Matthew Clarke (Turntables). Weiter gings bei Geffen Records mit den Alben "One Fierce Beer Coaster" 1996, "Hooray For Boobies" 1999 und "Hefty Fine" 2005. Der größte Hit der Bloodhound Gang war "The Bad Touch" 1999. Mit "Along Comes Mary" schafften sie es nur in Österreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz in die Top Ten. Daddy Long Legs verließ die Band nach dem ersten Album, Lüpüs Thünder verabschiedete sich dann 2008, aber Jimmy Pop machte mit DJ Q-Ball, Evil Jared Hasselhoff, Daniel P. Carter (Guitar) und The Yin alias Adam Perry (Drums) noch bis 2016 weiter. Zuletzt erschien 2015 das Album "Hard-Off" bei Jimmy Franks Recording Company, dem Label von Jimmy Pop. Evil Jared Hasselhoff sagte 2017 in einem Interview: If the Bloodhound Gang still exists, yes, I'm still a member. Die Bloodhound Gang ist irgendwie Alternative Pop, yeah, manchmal mehr in Richtung Punk oder Funk Metal, manchmal mehr in Richtung HipHop. Crossover Pop, yeah. Jimmy Pop: I write all the lyrics at once, after we've recorded the music for the record. The ideas usually come to me when we're out on the road, and I have this thing for driving alone. When you drive for 10 hours straight, you start to hallucinate. I write stuff on little pieces of paper, and then drop it on the laptop later. And the funny thing is, I can never read what I scribbled. But sometimes what it looks like I wrote down is funnier that what I meant to write down. Von 1999 bis 2006 war Billy Brehony der Drummer der Bloodhound Gang, er trug den stage name Willie The New Guy. Yeah! Jürgen Ziemer: Punk war nie ein musikalischer Stil - das behaupten nur Dogmatiker, die wenig davon verstehen. Punk war und ist die Lizenz zum Selbermachen. 1977 bis 1981 hieß das Fanzines, Klamotten, Konzerte, Musik und nicht zuletzt die Gründung von eigenen Plattenfirmen. Ich gründete 1981 mit Bernhard Kölbersberger die Band MagenDarmTrakt und das Label Wohnzimmer-Kassetten, auch Das Fröhliche Wohnzimmer genannt.
