"The Message" war 1982 ein Hit von Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. Old School HipHop, yeah. Auf "Misfits" sind Songs von Bands wie The Chaps, The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain, The Tiger Lillies, Les Anglais, The Lorraine Bowen Experience, The Fleapit Orchestra oder Phil Dirtbox & The Starfish Of David zu finden, Novelty Songs, Country Music, aber auch Punk, Synthie Pop und HipHop der schrägen Sorte. Keine Ahnung wer Cupboard Simon war oder ist, über Georgina Dobson steht in den liner notes folgendes zu lesen: The Angelic old lady hobbling down the High Street with her coat done up tight to the neck and her bobble hat clamped onto her head is, in fact, a hardcore rapper, poetess, singer and theatrical darling. Showtime she'll be propped up on stage, grimly hanging onto her walking sticks with one arthritic hand, smoothing down her dress with the other, popping another peppermint, extravagantly clearing her throat and giving her watery-eyed grin before launching into a Grandmaster Flash classic. Her mother was a star of the old music hall and Georgina has trod the boards since she was a gel, singing Gaelic and choral songs, acting - not long after her 70th birthday she was playing Ariel, Shakespeares 'airy spirit', in a production of "The Tempest" - and performing self-penned poems like "Nightclub Proprietress" and "The Lift Attendant". Keine Ahnung ob Georgina Dobson noch lebt, ihre Version von "The Message" ist great. Wow! Das Schlusswort spricht diesmal der 1889 im Alter von 81 Jahren verstorbene französische Schriftsteller Jules Amédée Barbey d'Aurevilly: Es gibt gelegentlich eine Art Gewandtheit in der Unbeholfenheit, die, so scheint mir, anmutiger ist als die Anmut selbst. In der Reihe "Die andere Bibliothek" im Eichborn Verlag wurde 1996 sein Buch "Diabolische Geschichten" neu aufgelegt und beim Verlag Matthes & Seitz erschienen 2006 von Jules Amédée Barbey d'Aurevilly die beiden Bücher "Gegen Goethe" und "Über das Dandytum". Jules Amédée Barbey d'Aurevilly ist mit Vorsicht zu genießen, er war durch und durch konservativ, Monarchist und überzeugter Katholik, trotzallem können seine Bücher viel Vergnügen bereiten.
