Die Version von Sexton Ming erschien 1997 bei Little Teddy Recordings auf der EP "Beastly Magnet", die die 4 Songs "Beastly Magnet", "The Wind Blows Mary", "Girls Eat Worms" und "Cry Your Tears And Renew Your Strenght" enthält. Wunderschöner Psychedelic Art Pop, yeah. Sexton Ming wurde 1961 in Gravesend, England geboren und gehört dem von Billy Childish alias Steven Hamper und Charles Thomson gegründeten Stuckism Art Movement an. Sexton Ming war auch Mitglied bei den Medway Poets, einer Punk Poetry Performance Group, die aus Miriam Carney, Billy Childish, Rob Earl, Bill Lewis, Sexton Ming, Charles Thomson und Alan Denman bestand. Im Jahr 1988 erschien bei Hangman Records das Album "The Medway Poets" mit Texten von Rob Earl, Vic Templar, Tracey Emin, Charles Thomson, Billy Childish und Sexton Ming sowie 4 Songs der Band Natural Born Lovers, die aus Billy Childish, Sexton Ming und Big Russ Wilkins bestand. Richtig los mit Popmusik gings bei Sexton Ming 1987, da erschien bei Hangman Records sein Debütalbum "Old Horse Of The Nation". Sexton Ming (Vocals, Guitar) wird darauf von Billy Childish (Guitar, Organ, Drums, Percussion) und Banana Bertie alias Mark Gilbert (Drums) musikalisch unterstützt. Im gleichen Jahr erschienen bei Hangman Records noch die Alben "Which Dead Donkey Daddy?" und "Plump Prizes And Little Games" von Billy Childish & Sexton Ming sowie bei Empire Records das Album "Ban The Mindreader" von der Band The Mindreaders, die aus Sexton Ming, Big Russ Wilkins (Guitar) und Rocking Richard alias Richard Inman (Drums) bestand. Bei Hangman Records erschienen von Sexton Ming noch die Alben "6 More Miles To The Graveyard" 1988 und "Birds With Teeth" 1990 sowie gemeinsam mit Billy Childish das Album "Ypres 1917 Overture - Verdun Ossuary (For Piano And Harmonium)" 1988. Beim Label Damaged Goods erschienen von Billy Childish & Sexton Ming die Alben "The Cheeky Cheese" 1999, "Here Come The Fleece Geese" 2002 und "Dung Beetle Rolls Again" 2011. Die anderen Bands, Musiker*innen auf dieser Compilation sind Thee Milkshakes, The Delmonas, Timmy Tremolo, The Discords, The Pop Rivets, The Prime Movers, Thee Mighty Caesars, The Kravin' "A"s und The Mindreaders. Sexton Ming nahm auch mit Bands wie Damp Banger, The Tasty Ones, The Haunted Reliant, The Sensational Sexton Ming Band, The Whistle Beasts, The Diamond Gussets, Poofs At Work, Auntie Vegetable, The Tropics Of Cancer, Eucharist, Dr. Spirit, The Offset, Transistor6, The Avant Gardeners, Quentin And His Crisps, Project Dark oder Sexton Ming & Steady mehrere Songs auf, nachzuhören sind sie auf den beiden bei Rim Records erschienenen Sexton-Ming-Compilations "A Lifetime Of Nervous Gutaches Volume 1 (Rare Recordings 1979-2002)" 2003 und "A Lifetime Of Nervous Gutaches Volume 2 (Rare Recordings 1979-2005)" 2005. Bei Rim Records erschienen von Sexton Ming auch die Soloalben "Crumb Girl" 2003, "Funk Child" 2004, "Out To Stud" 2005 und "Punks Are Sad, Hippies Are Cool" 2007. Bisher zuletzt erschienen von Sexton Ming die Alben "Future Trips Of A Stolen Mind" 2020 und "Continuation" 2021, ersteres unter dem Namen Sexton Ming's Porridge Van & The Vitamin B12 und zweiteres ist von den Mindreaders, also Sexton Ming, Russ Wilkins und Richard Inman. Sexton Ming nennt sich auf diesem Album Antonius Waghorn und Richard Inman hört jetzt auf den Namen Richard Ipaint. Egal. Sexton Ming ist seit 2001 mit der Malerin und Musikerin Ella Guru alias Ella Drauglis verheiratet, die bei den Bands Mambo Taxi, Voodoo Queens, The Tasty Ones und Deptford Beach Babes spielte. Der Künstlername Ella Guru wurde vom Song "Ella Guru" von Captain Beefheart alias Don Van Vliet inspiriert, der auf seinem Album "Trout Mask Replica" 1969 zu finden ist.
