Der Song "The Pig Was Cool" erschien 1993 beim Label Touch And Go als Single, mit dem ebenfalls hörenswerten Song "Unbelievable!" auf der B-Side. Er ist auch auf dem 1994 erschienenen Album "Uncompromising War On Art Under The Dictatorship Of The Proletariat" zu finden. Comrade Michael Gerald (Bass, Vocals), Comrade Paul Zagoras (Guitar) und Comrade Dan Hobson (Drums) lautete 1993 die Besetzung von Killdozer, für die Backing Vocals auf dem Album sind die Killdozer Young Ladies Brigade und das North Stoughton Young Socialists Basketball Team zuständig. Über den Song "The Pig Was Cool" schreibt Michael Gerald im Booklet: This song tells the story of one young idealist's fantasy of a socialist utopia, where the police are helpful and considerate of their fellow citizens, as in Castro's Cuba. Unfortunately, the harsh reality in capitalist nations, where they are more commonly referred to as 'pigs', 'fuzz', 'flat foots' and 'coppers', is that the police are nothing more than truncheon-wielding enforcers of the status quo for the capitalist oppressors. Killdozer lösten sich 1996 auf, Sänger Michael Gerald veröffentlichte nach dem Ende von Killdozer mit der Band Dragline Speedway 2013 das Album "Black Thunder", seither ist Funkstille. Schade. Nun will ich euch noch vier Pop-Perlen aus dem Jahr 1968 zum Anhören empfehlen, habe sie selbst erst jetzt entdeckt. Yeah! "Spider" von Downliners Sect, "See Through Windows" von Family, "Catherine's Wheel" von Denny Laine und "Mrs. Grundy" von Plastic Penny. Downliners Sect wurden 1963 von Don Craine alias Michael O'Donnell (Vocals, Guitar), Terry Gibson alias Terry Clemson (Guitar), Keith Grant (Bass, Vocals) und Johnny Sutton (Drums) in London gegründet und waren bis 1968 in der Popwelt unterwegs. Im Jahr 1977 kehrte die Band zurück, Don Craine, Terry Gibson und Keit Grant waren wieder mit an Bord. Don Craine starb 2022 im Alter von 76 Jahren und Terry Gibson starb 2020, wie alt er genau war, konnte ich nicht rausfinden, aber mit ziemlicher Sicherheit über 70. Keith Grant ist aber noch immer mit Downliners Sect unterwegs. Family war die Band rund um Sänger Roger Chapman, sie wurde 1966 in Leicester, England gegründet und hatte mit Songs wie "No Mule's Fool" 1969, "In My Own Time" 1971 und "Burlesque" 1972 in Großbritanien Hits. Family lösten sich 1973 auf, sind aber seit 2013 wieder aktiv. Roger Chapman feierte 2022 seinen 80. Geburtstag. Denny Laine alias Brian Haines war von 1964 bis 1966 Sänger der Band The Moody Blues und versuchte danach eine Solokarriere. Von 1971 bis 1980 spielte er Gitarre, Bass und Piano bei Paul McCartneys Band Wings. Seither ist er wieder solo unterwegs, sein bisher letztes Album, "The Blue Musician", erschien 2008 bei Peacock Records. Denny Laine ist 77 Jahre alt. Die Band Plastic Penny war von 1967 bis 1969 aktiv und veröffentlichte die beiden Alben "Two Sides Of A Penny" 1968 und "Currency" 1969. Plastic Penny waren Brian Keith alias Brian O'Shea (Vocals), Paul Raymond (Keyboards, Guitar), Mick Graham alias Michael Grabham (Guitar), Tony Murray (Bass) und Nigel Olsson (Drums). Sänger Brian Keith hatte dann 1971 mit der Band The English Congregation und dem Song "Softly Whispering I Love You" einen Hit. Die Band blieb aber ein sogenanntes one-hit-wonder und löste sich 1973 oder 1974 wieder auf. So, genug für heute, man kann nie genug Killdozer hören, yeah.
