It's a moving album on many levels; not only do the songs have Smog's usual emotional intimacy, their subjects move away from difficult, claustrophobic situations toward maturity and acceptance. Bill Callahan hat zuletzt 2024 bei Drag City Records das Album "Resuscitate!" veröffentlicht. Das letzte Album unter dem Pseudonym Smog war "A River Ain't Too Much To Love" 2005, seither veröffentlicht er unter seinem bürgerlichen Namen Bill Callahan. Vom Album "Knock Knock" wurden die Songs "Cold Blooded Old Times" und "Held" als Single veröffentlicht, von beiden gibt es auch eine akustische Version. Bill Callahan ist einfach wunderbar und seine Stimme immer ein Genuss. Von 1988 bis 1990 gab Bill Callahan das Fanzine Disaster heraus und veröffentlichte auf seinem eigenen Label Disaster Records die ersten Tonträger von Smog oder Bill Smog, wie er sich anfänglich auch manchmal nannte. Das waren die Kassetten "Macramé Gunplay", "Cow" und "A Table-setting" sowie die LPs "Tired Tape Machine" und "Sewn To The Sky". Die Kassette "Cow" wurde dann 2000 von Domino Records unter dem Titel "Strayed" mit dem neuen Song "Strayed" wiederveröffentlicht,. Das Album "Sewn To The Sky" wurde 1995 von Drag City Records neu aufgelegt. Im Jahr 2018 gabs von Bill Callahan bei Third Man Records, dem Label von Jack White, das Livealbum "Live At Third Man Records", auf dem Bill Callahan (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar) von Matt Kinsey (Electric Guitar) musikalisch unterstützt wird. Matt Kinsey war mal Sänger und Gitarrist der kurzlebigen Band The Tiny Adventurers, die 2011 beim Label Chicken Bristle Tune Concern das Album "Wild-Eyed In The Hinterlands" veröffentlicht hat. Jetzt gehört er zur Begleitband von Bill Callahan. So, zum Abschluss noch 2 Songs aus dem Jahr 1998, die ebenfalls in dieser Liste Erwähnung finden sollten, "Sleeping On Bowery St." von Ultra Bidé, this is what happens when three nice, unsuspecting Japanese guys relocate to NYC… a modern tragedy set to crazed avant punk noise, und "Blame The Victim" von Cypher In The Snow, einer Queercore-Band aus San Francisco. Ach und weil wir gerade bei Queercore sind, hört euch auch den Song "Anna-ee" 1991 von PME an. PME waren Vaginal Davis (Vocals), Glen Meadmore (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Dean 'The Babe' Opseth (Bass, Backing Vocals) und 'Sneaky' Pete Tomlinson (Drums, Backing Vocals), die Band hat 1991 die EP "PME/EP" und 1996 das Album "The White To Be Angry" veröffentlicht.
