Nach 4 Alben lösten sich Soft Cell 1984 auf, versuchten es aber von 2001 bis 2004 nochmals und veröffentlichten 2002 bei Cooking Vinyl Records ihr fünftes Album "The Last Night... In Sodom". Dave Ball veröffentlichte 1983 das Soloalbum "In Strict Tempo" und 2016 gemeinsam mit Jon Savage das Album "Photosynthesis". Weitere Tonträger veröffentlichte er mit Bands wie Other People, English Boy On The Loveranch, Love Street, The Grid oder Nitewreckage. Sehr empfehlenswert ist auch die 2003 bei Universal Records erschienene 3-CD-Box "New Romantics" mit je einer CD von Ultravox!, Visage und Soft Cell. Von Ultravox! sind da die alten Sachen mit John Foxx drauf, super, eigentlich würd ich Ultravox! mit John Foxx nicht zu den New Romantics zählen, Soft Cell eigentlich auch nicht, aber was solls, was solls.
